ASSIST4 Import: ideal prerequisite for ATLAS participation
AEB: a certified software provider for ATLAS
ASSIST4 Import supports you in the transit procedure, the summary declaration, import (normal and simplified procedures), the customs warehouse and the inward processing relief (IPR). ASSIST4 is a ground-floor ATLAS product – the original pilot program involving only five companies and their software partners included the active participation of AEB using ASSIST4 Import.
Better status with ATLAS
As of April 1, 2004, only those companies who process their applications through ATLAS may profit from simplifications in the transit procedure – namely, the new electronic transit procedure called NCTS, which in Germany is a part of ATLAS. The status of “authorized consignor” or “authorized consignee” is linked to participation in this NCTS process.
Exchange with a domino effect
Electronic communication with customs is akin to a game of dominos: Once an application has been approved, the next step is initiated - quickly and automatically. Customs information in ATLAS is transmitted via EDIFACT message; there is no need to fill out paper forms. The system guarantees the timely transmission of every application. It also guarantees a quick overview of all messages received from the customs authority – also transmitted in EDIFACT format - which might include the assessment of customs duties, for example.
ASSIST4 Import brings the benefits of ATLAS to your enterprise:
- Communication with the customs authorities is secure and utilizes the latest ATLAS version.
- Greater flexibility: you are not bound by the business hours of the customs offices but have a quasi “24-hour customs office”.
- Cost savings: the need for a service provider to handle border formalities (transit document or simplified customs declaration) is completely eliminated.
- Reduced administrative outlay: there is no pressure at the end of the accounting period thanks to ongoing submission of the supplementary customs declaration. The tax assessment is available electronically and can be used within the computer system without any further manual preparation. Records such as invoices or freight documents no longer need to be submitted together with the customs declaration.
- Processing is accelerated through submission of the customs declaration prior to presentation.
