Add-ons outsource entire process chains
The tried-and-tested ASSIST4 system extracts all relevant data - such as delivery note or order information - from the leading data processing applications. Even in the case of interim steps in which data is reported back, an add-on still assumes responsibility for an entire process - transport management, for example.
Plug-ins such as the ATC components work directly in SAP
Plug–ins, on the other hand, are incorporated directly into the existing SAP® graphical user interface and the SAP® business framework. Standardized technologies allow additional functions to be added to the system irrespective of the release in use and without the need for modifications. The user of an SAP® plug-in is unaware of whether he or she is not working directly in the SAP® software.
